A Profound 'Footprint' Forward In Community Mental Health

The acknowledgement of Footprints’ expertise of service and program delivery which compliments state and commonwealth mental health programs was selected for   additional funding. Minister for Health, The Honourable Lawrence Springborg, stating that the Government has a strong plan to build a brighter future of support for mental health.

“We recognise that mental health affects people from all walks of life, and is one of the single, biggest health issues.  People have a right to purseue an indpendent life with dignity and live and work within the community free from stigma." says Cherylee Treloar.

Part of the Footprints’ mission, is to service this issue, by supporting conusmers in their pursuit of health and wellbeing providing personalized and practical support.

Footprints' will continue to facilitate and build on its current programs and services such as;

* Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP)

* About Me counselling service (providing appropriate psychological interventions)

* Hearing Voices (providing group support and encouragement for voice hearers)

* Power On (helping women who have experienced mental health issues, to gain confidence and the skill to enhance core aspects of their life)

We welcomed the recent announcement made by the Minister for Health the Honorable Lawrence Springborg and acknowledge the contributions of many organizations over the past decades towards improving mental health for consumers and their families.
